Gmail exchange question

I have my gmail account set up as an exchange account and have a question. Both calendar entries and emails sync fine, contacts on the other hand are not syncing and all three types of contacts are turned on for exchange. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.

Try deleting and re adding the exchange account.

I always delete the contacts on the phone and never had a problem.
