Installing Beta 4 on a live iPhone using restore

Now that we've been through 3 primary Beta versions and 4 appears to address stability issues rather than functional enhancements, has anybody attempted to load Beta 4 onto a working v2.2.1 iPhone and then restored all of your music, settings, email accounts, etc.......just thinking that if we are now into bug fix mode only for this and any future beta releases, we should be able to load to a working iPhone with all of your settings included.

Don't do it... you'll run into issues somewhere along the way.

I wouldn't restore or update from 2.2.1 to 3.0 (any beta), but from beta 2 to beta 3, restore (from back up of beta 2) worked fine and from beta 3 to beta 4 also restore then choosing the back up of beta 3 worked fine. No issues whatsoever. I have read plenty of people simply "updating" from one beta to the next with no issues.

Personally, I say give it a try and see, if you run into issues...you haven't lost anything but a bit of time, you can either downgrade back to 2.2.1 and use your back up, or you can restore as new for 3.0.
