how to save downloaded images to an assigned folder?

I use a lot of reference photos for my work. Photos i find online, and download to my device.
In android this was saved to a set location...namely the folder "downloads".
I recently switched to an ipad pro, and camera roll is literally driving me insane!!!
Every thing...every thing ends up there.
Is there a setting that i'm missing? There must be a way to tell my browser to save downloaded images to a designated folder!?!

Hi, welcome to iMore.

You have to manually add those photos from Camera Roll to a folder you have to create.

It's not possible to delete photos from camera roll have them still in folders.

To be honest, if you need super advanced functionality like "folders" or the ability to delete pictures, then iOS isn't for you.

You create your albums (or folders). They will remain in the camera roll as well. But they do not take up extra space in the folder.
