Why doesn't Mailplane notify me of incoming messages anymore

I get e-mails but no flagging notification on the dock or any alerts anymore

Welcome to iMore! Have you checked in Settings > Notifications to make sure it's set as desired?
You might try deleting the app, then reinstall it. While reinstalling it, it should ask for permission to send notifications. Give it permission. It may have lost the permissions.
