Hey just wondering for calendar to automatically add a restaurant reservation etc to calendar does the mail app need to be enabled in icloud settings or should it work even if the mail app is disabled in icloud settings

If the Mail app is disabled, how will you be able to retrieve the reservation information to be placed in the calendar if that information comes via email?

yes so i just want to confirm that mail needs to be turned on in the settings for this to work. does this work with everything or just certain places for example job interviews from a local store or is it mainly restaurants etc

With anything if the option is in the email. But your email account has to be toggled on in Settings.
