Before 1960 the downtown numbers were 2 letters and 4 numbers.

Classified number was MOhawk or MO. 5555. AFTER during 1960 the number was changed to TL 6 5555. Then eventually 856 5555.

The 2 letters 4 number phone numbers looked cool. My number now can be MISsion 0987. That is what I have on the round tag on the dial wheel.

Would be neat if the phone books we're printed as so.

Funny, yesterday I was with a friend writing down the phones we used to own...
In 1999 I had a Nokia 8210. It was all about having the smallest phone back then. It's the only phone ever which I owned for 2 years!

I had a Sony CM-RX100 with Airtouch but for a while I disconnected it for a few months of that year because I was fresh out of high school and pretty much too broke to afford the Airtouch bill.

1999 I was at the German military. My cell phone was a Siemens S10 - the first with a "color" (4 color, 5000 pixels). 2000 I started working at Siemens mobile.
