I had a Panasonic brick phone, similar in size to the current cordless phones. I was drooling over a Motorola flip phone.

Edit: Ha, it was a Sony CMB1207CNT0, not Panasonic.

That was a good phone.

I'm pretty sure I was rocking this instil I finally swapped for a Samsung SPH-A500 (http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=158) - $700 at the time but it was cream of the crop. Only better option was a BlackBerry. Finally made the switch to a BlackBerry circa 2005 and rocked BlackBerry exclusively until around 2012. From there it was everything from BlackBerry 10 to iPhone and even some Froyo Androids.

Remember the mobile phone antennas that used to be affixed to the rear window? I kid you not, but I saw a car with a fake one attached. My teen son didn't know what it was, and when I explained it to him, he was in awe.

I remember when my dad got one of those bag phones - when I was much younger, back in the 80's. It came with that antenna attached to the car. I was in awe myself.

Working on an apple laptop (dont remember what; work provided) and had an errickson cell phone that had snake game and made calls. Ended up shattering phone the night my son was born (long story), but that was an expensive boo-boo to make.

I was graduating junior high school and had a red and black motorola pager for page plus. When i started high school my parents got me a motorola startac or a timeport, i think. Then there was the baby of the family Compaq Presario with a whopping 400Mhz MMX 3D NOW! AMD Athlon processor, 100 gig hard drive, 128 MB of RAM, 56K modem and 10/100 ethernet port running windows 98.

In 1999? I was a sophomore in High School. The only people I knew that had cell phones were my dad and one person my age. I thought they were so cool. A few kids in my school had pagers, which I thought were kind of cool too.
