i don't want my ipad which my family uses to sync with my iphone

i have an ipad at home which my family uses and now i have purchased an iphone, my phone is syncing with my ipad, esp facetime contacts, i don't want to change my icloud i.d. Please help!!

If you use the same Apple ID, then naturally all your data (including contacts) will be shared on both devices. The ideal solution is to create a new Apple ID and use it for your personal information. The good thing is that you can use more than one Apple ID for various services on the same device. For example, you can use a personal Apple ID account for your iCloud data, and use the shared family account for iTunes purchases.

Welcome to iMore :)

Without creating and using a new Apple ID there's not much you can really do. Unless you want to lose other beneficial Apple services your only recourse is to create a new Apple ID.
