Trying to decide on a Mac or PC for writing novels

I have always used Microsoft office products (mainly due to ex-husband being a PC snob) and just published my first novel. However, the idea of an Apple laptop is appealing for some reason - any opinions one way or the other would be helpful.

Do you have an iPhone? iPad? If so, there are benefits to having a Mac to compliment them, such as integrated Messaging between all the devices - including the Mac.

The Mac would also probably have less (but not non-existent) worries about ransomware holding your novel hostage

I've had my Mac for a bit over a year, and I'm pretty happy with it. There were some occasional bugs with the newer OSX features back when I first bought it, but most of them work nicely now.
