Why doesn't the video recorded from front camera give sound?

why the video recorded from front camera doesn't give sound?

recently i am having the trouble to record video from front camera since i can't hear the audio. there is only hissing sound. but it works fine if i plug in the micro phone. but the camera works fine for snapchat and some other apps. also siri doesnt have any effect when the micro phone is not connected. the voice memo works fine though without the microphone also.

Welcome to iMore! Make sure the speakers are not blocked.
This has worked for others: Go to YouTube and play a video. While playing it, turn the volume all the way up with the volume control on the side of the phone. Then go back and try a video again.
