I have an email stuck in my inbox. How can I get rid of it?

I have an email stuck in my inbox.

iMac,OS X 10.10.5. One email can't be accessed, i get the constant 'pinwheel'. if i can't access the thing I can't delete it. how can i delete the email without accessing it.
i've gotten rid of everything else in the inbox but can't seem to figure this out. Could use some help here.

Welcome to iMore! Did you try swiping the email to the left, then trash it?
Or go to the email on your computer and delete it there.
