why did my battery icon change from green charge to brown or yellow

the icon showed red for low battery and green for a charged battery, now it shows a brown or yellow color when charged or charging

Yellow means that you have enabled "Low Power Mode".

Settings > Battery > Low Power Mode > On/Off

Low power mode is turned on. Go into your settings, battery. Turn off low power mode and your meter will change instantly back to green.

Or just keep it on the charger until you at least reach 80% of charge.
Low Power Mode is set to be disabled when reaching 80%.
