Does the download just timeout? Does your 5s have some free space? I had issues updating a phone recently that was caused by an issue with my ISP - I switched to the google DNS server to resolve it. I doubt that's what's affecting you, but it might be some sort of network problem. Maybe you could try again tomorrow or you could try updating it via iTunes.

Whatever you do, make sure you have a backup first!

Welcome to iMore! Make sure you have enough storage space left on your device by going to Settings > General > Storage > Storage & iCloud Usage. Keep in mind, if you try to download and install an iOS update over the air and don't have enough available storage you should be getting a message indicating a lock of available space.
