Why is my Contact list showing all email addresses I have used in the past?

My contact list is three times as long because every email address I ever wrote to has somehow found itself in my contact list.

I wish Apple had a customer service you could call.

If you have more than one email account configured on your device, it's possible that the contacts associated with those email accounts are set to sync to your iPhone. Disable the toggle next to "contacts" in all but one of your email accounts.
