Why does my iPad start playing music when not in use?

iPad starts playing music when not in use

When left alone in a sleep mode it will start playing music by it's self

I must admit I have never heard of this one and have you tried to confirm where there music is actually coming from in term of an app?? I don't think it can just play from nowhere. What iPad do you have with what IOS is loaded? Can you double tap the home button when this happens to see what app is open and at least close it. Lastly does it stop or continue playing when you open it from sleep mode?
