How can I fix a small memory problem?

Basically I have small memory on my Iphone 8gb and a large memory on my Ipad 64gb. I want to have all my music on my Ipad except it always syncs automatically to my Iphone then the music is on both and I have no memory just want to know if there is a way to stop this?

Welcome to iMore! There must be a way to not sync. Hopefully someone who knows how will come along. I don't have a clue. I understand about an 8 gb phone. I used one for almost 2 years.
It's storage capacity, not memory. Memory is RAM.

Are you sure the 'music' is actually downloaded on both devices or do you just see the titles of the songs with a cloud icon next to them?
