what is it "Reset all settings"

Hello
I have noticed that I don't get text notifications. I get it most times,
since my little nephew plays with my phone.

what is it "reset all settings"? should I do that?

It put all "settings" back to their native state. It does not delete any of your data, music, photos, videos and apps.

This includes, alarms, weather cites, wallpaper, ringtones, WiFi passwords and a few other things.
