Why don't the numbers display on my phone when I get a call?

When receiving a call the number does not display on the screen, I have to tap a green bar on top to snow the caller. Why?

Usually that only pops up if you clicked out of the call & started doing something else. If that's not the case, reset your device by clicking & holding the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears. That usually fixes these small bugs.
