Can't download apps.

I recently purchased a iTunes card to use instead of my credit card to download apps. Now when I try to, it continues to send me to the verification process & asks me to enter a credit/debit card. Am I missing something here or do I need to have one on file ? The one that is on there is cancelled.

I believe you still have to have an active/valid credit card on file--even if you're paying with an iTunes Gift Card.
