I got a text from a girl in Ghana but she wasn't in my contact list

How is it possible for this girl to contact me when she isn't in my phone contacts list?
I thought only my contacts could text or ring me.... The girl said she seen my profile picture when she installed viber but I'm very suspicious about her

Any phone number can contact any phone number. Only phone numbers in your contact list will show up with a name.

First of all, I would block her. Then I'd consider activating the option to block all messages from people not in your list, if it bothers you.
