I used the change number option with my son's number instead of another when switching phones.

I used the change number option on my husband's phone, but used my son's number. Now my son's groups are on my husband's phone. How do I reverse this action? Therefore get my sons whatsapp groups back on his phone with his number? How do I undo this?

What change number option? Are they sharing the same Apple ID? If they use their own Apple ID there should be no problem. Your husband needs to sign out of iMessage and sign back in with his own ID. Your son also needs his own ID. Where, exactly, did you change the number?
