Yep, and that's why we should go through each and every setting/option, regardless of the device, in my opinion.

That's the first thing I like to do too. Regardless of this issue, browsing thru settings had helped me many times when later on I want to try something and I at least sort of remember where to look.

Samsung rejects concern over 'Orwellian' privacy policy | Technology | The Guardian

Samsung privacy policy warns: “Please be aware that if your spoken words include personal or other sensitive information, that information will be among the data captured and transmitted to a third party through your use of voice recognition.”
Just got a Sharp's Smart TV last weekend. Could the built-in voice recognition software transmit my patriotism to Japanese Big Brother?

Probably. Read the privacy policy and check the settings.

What these TV's NEED to be storing and sharing is what shows we're actually watching because the Nielsen Rating system is very quickly becoming obsolete, and TV shows are suffering because of it. TV shows get cancelled because of #'s based out of a system that doesn't consider all forms of "viewership".

They have all this marketing crap these TV's store info for, but they have a very good tool they COULD be using to better TV for everyone.
