I thought so too but I don't have this problem when I put my SIM in my Note 3.

Then also the weird rainbow colored glitchy screen it gives me while freezing...

I'm so frustrated at my local T-Mobile. They didn't have a white one to swap. The phone had a bad battery based on diagnostics. They wouldn't swap it out for the blue one instead.

Told me to come back tomorrow. Yeah, no. I'm going to find another T-Mobile store. I'm feeling horrible and now this? Think I'll get my deposit back and just go buy a phone directly from Apple. At least they'll have all sizes and colors!

I returned the defective white one to T-Mobile. Figured why not get a blue one from the Apple store. Then thought, Why not just spend another $100 and get double the storage? Me gusta!
