Believe me, that's not the reason.

I pay $89 for 110 channels, 35 HD channels, landline phone and internet. They even provided a dvr

And there are no restrictions for internet. Last December I downloaded like 600Gigabytes and uploaded 400Gigabytes.. They didn't even blink

I don't know about the states, but in here all you need is a 1 meter dish (diameter) and good cables and a good LNB.. If that isn't enough, you can always put 2 or 3 LNB's for better signal. You need a clear sight to the sky, obviously. And if you self are not handy, you need somebody to adjust it for you.

I did the setup myself, by looking at the positioning of the dish of my neighbors. All I had to do was turning on the signal strength screen on my tv to adjust it for better signal. It's not that hard.

There are some good websites with information for the DIY people
