How secure is "only me" on Facebook

If I want to keep private notes on Facebook, is the "only me" option safe? Or is there another way to keep private notes / entries on Facebook?

"Only me" is really only stuff visible by you (unless you get your account hacked). When I wanna make sure to keep private notes or entries REALLY private on Facebook, I send them to myself via Messenger. It does the job and I believe it's worth the extra steps =)

It seems like it would be more secure to not keep your private notes on Facebook and keep them elsewhere such as the Notes app on your device. Or even a service such as Evernote.

Having said that, there's no reason to think that those entries marked "Only Me" on Facebook would be visible to others except, as noted above, if you were hacked. Or by law enforcement with a proper warrant.
