when i want to post to a friends time line only the iPhone only says with friends only not one specific friend

Welcome to iMore! Your best resource for this issue is probably Facebook Support but if you are wanting to send a private message to your friend I suggest using Facebook Messenger instead. Walls are meant to be seen by multiple people, not just one.

If it's friends only, then request to be a friend. If they accept, then you can post on their timeline.
Facebook support is a joke.

I think the issue is the OP wants to post on a friend's wall but doesn't want any of his/her other friends to see it.
