Why is my Facebook app freezing?

Facebook app freezing

On My android cell phone....Everytime im in my fb and goto check my messages it freezes my fb and a screen pops up saying fb not responding options are wait,report,ok...if i click ok another screen pops up saying fb is closing you either wait or hit ok,waiting does no good it stays frozen if you click ok the whole fb closes its getting annoying...Fix fb for God sakes Anyone have any suggestions or idea why its doing that ?
