Why do my Facebook notifications not clear?

why do my facebook notifications not clear?

I have 50 facebook notifications and even when I click on each one and it shows no notifications afterwards, a few minutes later they are back to around 50 or more. This is on my iphone 6 plus. It does not show this on my pc. I did upgrade to the new ios 8 about a week agao

Welcome to iMore! Facebook is responsible for pushing your alerts to your phone so if you're clearing them out and they're coming right back it's probably an issue on their side. That being said, try turning alerts off and then back on in Settings > Notifications > Facebook. It may just reset things for you.
