how many people do you follow on Twitter?

currently i am only following 146 and to be honest it may be too many. i do not see how people follow hundreds lol. lists i guess

i find if i do not check my TL for 2-3 hours i will have A LOT of tweets to look thru! anyone have a certain method they use to not make it so overwhelming?

Following 295 right now. Just went through and cleansed it yesterday. I can keep up with it most of the time. Many of the accounts I follow are companies or apps that don't tweet much.

I've been tweeting for 3 years on my primary Twitter account (political) and therefore I follow 711 people and 678 follow me. The number of followers would be higher if my account wasn't protected. I approve the people who follow me. Anyway, I follow only a handful of people on my general account which I rarely check.

At one point I followed almost everyone who followed me (almost 2,000). I unfollowed a BUNCH and am down to following only 329. It's still too many. I don't read them all. I use TweetDeck and have columns for those people that are really important, and I still miss a bunch of what they say.

But whether I follow you or not - if you mention me, I respond.

I follow about 170ish. I honestly try to read everything and respond when I feel necessary. I have about 193 followers which will probably decrease since I just protected my tweets a few days ago.

I love finding new people to follow and really need to manage my lists better so I can keep up with people better. If I don't check my twitter feed all day (which is pretty typical), I can have 500+ tweets to catch up on.

For me I follow about 77, and until recently hadn't taken the time to manage them with lists. I just did it yesterday after finally purchasing TweetBot, and realized how much easier it is to do it that way.
