New to Twitter question....

I have the twitter app and twitterific...these apps don't give me alerts when something I'm following gets new tweets

It may depend on your settings, but I only get alerts when someone mentions me, i.e. @Lylej2k or they send me a direct message.

I kept missing mentions, even with the push notifications on the official app (I had both it and Tweetlogix installed so I could get push). Haven't missed a single one with Boxcar.

...though it does occasionally grumble that Tweetlogix isn't installed, which baffles me. Since I bought it, it's never been uninstalled.

Boxcar "claims" you get timeline notifications. i only get a few, if i am lucky

I follow too many people to want timeline notifications...it would be going off all day long. But Boxcar is awesome for mentions and DM's.

you can change your twitter settings in your "settings" app, there is a chance you might have turned it off
