All the facebook settings can be changed from your computer under setting then under mobile. You can turn the notifications off if you don't want them.

I'm trying to figure out myself how to delete notifications. And as far as deleting a status, go to it on your profile wall and swipe across it quickly and a delete option will appear.

And we want notifications to update us on the go, but the notification box gets long very quick and we can't seem to be able to delete them.

I have yet to figure out how to clear the new messages notifications.
Any suggestions on how to clear them?

The only way to clear them is to actually click and view them as far as I know.

That's all that has worked for me thus far.
