Hey all,

Recently, I've had some problems involving push notifications. Apps such as Mini Golf Matchup, Snap Chat and textPlus aren't sending me proper push notifications. I haven't changed any of the settings, and checking in Settings -> Notifications, they're all set to how they should be. Basically, I'll get a text through the textPlus app, someone will challenge me in Mini Golf, or anything that would normally send me a notification will not. They don't appear in the Notification Centre, or on the lock screen when my device is locked. I'll go in and refresh the app and a bunch of notifications will pop up, and then the phone will vibrate letting me know I have one.

My phone is an iPhone 5 running 6.1.4.

This is more of a suggestions or a complain but I use the multilingual keyboard and switch language all the time. The one thing that I find annoying is that there is no way to know what is the current language that the keyboard is set at. You have to tap and hold the globe to see which language is active.

I think that instead of a globe, it's the two letters of the current language that we should see to the left of the space bar. That would solve a big annoyance, for me at least :)

For the past 2 days, I haven't been able to install any apps on my iphone either through the AppStore on ios 6.1.2 or by iTunes. On the phone: I have tried new free software, new paid software (was charged for the software but it wouldn't install), as well as updates to existing software. I hit install and the activity wheel spins in the status bar for a few seconds and then nothing happens. At this point, updates just keep building up in the app store. Also, the itunes store will not download music to the phone, it just says waiting. With a computer and itunes: the apps say installing or at the end sometimes even installed, but they are not present on the phone and with resyncing to the computer say they are uninstalled. I can install tweaks and apps through cydia without a problem. I have tried the following without any benefit:

1. Turning automatic app updates on and off
2. Logging out of itunes and the appstore and relogging in through settings and also through the app store
3. Trying to install by 3G and by wifi
4. Resetting network settings and also resetting all settings
5. Holding power/home buttons to reset the phone multiple times
6. Removing ALL cydia packages and then reinstalling one at a time
7. Trying 1-5 in safe mode and also after restart with the vol up button held down so no jailbroken items are running

At this point, I can only think of restoring the whole phone--if I do this though, it will be to 6.1.3 so the jailbreak will be gone.

Could the iphone file directory be corrupted? If so can it be repaired?
Is the AppStore corrupted? Can it be reset somehow?

I would appreciate any help

If I open the task switcher (hopefully that's the correct term) and close all of the recently opened apps, then do a full reboot, up on rebooting all of the apps ARE BACK that I just closed. Anyone else notice this? I don't have any functional issues due to this, I just noticed it and it sorta ticks me off that the apps all show up again after i just took the time to close them all.

I tried couple of times but it was same. basically it happens in two different ways: the first one: it unselect all the selected mails during selection period and the the second one happens when you Mark a bunch of them and wait for couple of seconds. after that selected mails become unmarks.

Okay so I receive invites from my partner who uses Google calendar. I receive it at my iCloud.com email address (on both my Mac OSX 10.8.3 and iPhone 5). I know there's currently a bug in the Mac mail app when opening the attached invite.ics attachment it doesn't add the event to the default calendar I have set.... but that's another matter for Apple to fix.

So I open the email on my iPhone and click the invite.ics attachment and that opens my calendar and asks if I want to Add to Calendar. After the event is added to the default calendar, I open the calendar app and select the added event (grayed out). At the bottom there are buttons for Maybe, Accept or Decline.

Here's the problem - after I select Accept (or any of the choices) it never sends an email back to the originator so they know I have replied. On the Mac it does send a response.

Is there something I am missing???

I've recently updated my iPhone software so it seems Google sees this as a different device and thus the changes removing Exchange support for gmail have come into effect. This means the only way I can find to get push gmail is to switch to using the Google gmail app (or start paying for Google Apps). Apart from not liking the gmail app this also means I lose things like unified inbox and now have to have my non-gmail accounts in a separate application and my gmail account in a non-default application (which I don't think you can change without a jailbreak).

Does anybody have a solution for at least putting all these accounts in one application with push functionality?

We've all experienced it at one time or another, tying to connect to WiFi and there's a roadblock in the way. Sometimes it's as easy as a quick restart of your phone and other times it can take lots of work to get it going again. In this guide, we take a look at some of the steps you should always take when encountering WiFi issues. I'll be going through the steps in the guide in the same order I recommend you try them when having WiFi connectivity issues. But hey, it's your iPhone, so feel free to try them in any order you see fit.

1) Do a soft reset of your iPhone

To do this, just hold down the home button and the lock/power button together until you see the Apple logo pop up on your screen (usually 3-5 seconds). Then just wait till the phone powers down and then comes back online. This is always the first step in troubleshooting any issues with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. Once it's back, see if your iPhone is picking up WiFi. If not, let's try step 2.

2 ) Make sure that your WiFi is on and the desired network is selected

To ensure your wifi is on, head on into the Settings menu and tap the wifi menu. Once there, make sure it's set to 'On.' Below the on/off notification area, all the WiFi networks around you will be showing up. Click on the one you want to connect to and see if your iPhone connects. If not, let's look at some conditional options in step 3.

3) Is router reset an option for you?

If the Wifi network you're looking to connect to is yours, a router reset can often fix WiFi connection issues. If you're at a public place, Starbucks for example, you'll have to skip this step and move on to number 4.

If you do have access to the router, go ahead an unplug the power cord to the router, leaving it unplugged for at least 15 seconds so it will have time to fully power down. Then, plug the power cord back in and wait at least a minute before trying to connect. If you can connect now, we're good. If not, lets try another possible remedy.

4) Forgetting the network can help your iPhone remember

This step is a lot like clearing the cache in your browser and starting fresh. You'll go to Settings > WiFi and then click on the little blue arrow bubble next to the name of the network you're having issues joining. This will take you to the network connection page for that specific network. You'll see all the network information here, but what we're looking for is the button at the top labeled "Forget this Network." Click
on that, select the red "Forget" button that comes up at the bottom of the screen, then wait about a minute so the cache fully clears.

Once you've waited, click the name of the network in the WiFi network list to join it again. If it's a password protected network, you'll have to enter that here, so be sure you remember the password to a network before you tell your iPhone to forget it. Once you put in your password, you should be connected and ready to go.

Still Having Connection Issues?

If you still can't connect to the desired WiFi network after trying the aforementioned steps, you may have a bigger problem on your hands than this troubleshooting guide can help you fix. At this point, I would suggest trying the WiFi connection on another device to see if it works there.

If you can connect to the WiFi network on another device, try connecting to WiFi at another location with your iPhone. If you can't connect there, the problem is most likely with your iPhone and you should take it to an Apple Store to have it checked out.

If you can't connect on any other devices either, then you may have an issue with your network. I recommend referring to your router's instruction manual for more troubleshooting tips and/or checking with your Internet service provider to make sure your Internet connection is functioning properly.
