It was so damn good i can't even really explain it. I'm a huge trekkie, i love all of the movies and this one couldn't have been more perfect. A few suggestions before you see it...

- Watch a few of the old films.
- Do not hesitate to see it in IMAX 3D...this one almost DEMANDS it.
- Pee before you go in, it's just amazing from the first second it starts until the last credit rolls.
- It is an EXHAUSTING movie, prepare to be physically tired after it, lol!

...getting into the story would just ruin too much right now so I'll wait until next week to talk about the details, but suffice to say, as someone who cherishes the original films, this one instantly became a favorite of mine.

DVD/BD vs iTunes movies

I used to buy all my really geeky movies on Blu Ray. I loved the picture and sound quality. And all the extra features like directors commentary and deleted scenes.

Then I switched to iTunes. The quality was okay. And it was so much more convenient. I didn't have to go hunting for bits of plastic, I could just turn on my TV and stream immediately.

But now I'm in a quandary. Most of the iTunes movies don't have all the extra features. And even when they do you can't watch them on AppleTV, you have to download them and watch them on iTunes desktop.

That's insane.

So now I think I'm going to go back to disk. Ideally I'd get the ones with digital copies, but either way I think the bonus content on the plastic along with a better picture and sound, still makes it the better overall solution.

Anyone else debating this?

Deadline has the word:

UPDATE: ABC Picks Up 'Trophy Wife', Cullen Bros, 'Influence', 'The Goldbergs', 'Super Fun Night', 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' To Series - Deadline.com

I really hope this is done well. My childhood was filled with the awesome Nick Fury/SHIELD adventures from the comics. Lots to live up to!

More like Iron meh 3...I wasn't impressed at all, and while i've probably seen the first two films a hundred times a piece, I will probably never watch this one again. Cheesy "wit", horrible writers, story full of plot holes and telling fans that The Mandarin was in this film was about as accurate as telling us that Spider Man and Chuck Norris were in it.

Entertaining but underwhelming.

The show is terrible...and I'm a pretty open minded science fiction fan, and can usually give a show some time to grow on me, but this show sucks. They try too hard to push their whole world on you right from the get go, they use their own language in a very forced way and instead of being catchy and unique (like Battlestar and Firefly did), it's cheesy and annoying.

I wanted to like this show, i wanted a new sci-fi tv show to enjoy over the summer. At least to me, it appears it's a one and done scenario.
