How do you market your apps

I don't know if this is the right place to put this, but i would like to know what you do to market your apps.

Do you pay for it on adwords, facebook or other places
Or do you rely on marketing you apps on forums, blogs, youtube and app review sites.

I read somewhere but I could be wrong that Apple gives you 70% of revenue - you submit the app with your name and a logo and i think you are good to go -
