I seen a few App Store apps "Strongly recommending" that the iPhone be Rebooted after installation.

Question: Why?

Why would this EVER be required for a sandbox application?
Why would it be necessary for ANY non-Kernel application in a unix based system?

Possibly due to the amount of ram that it needed to use during installing the application. You're not dealing with a device with a large amount. You've never installed anything to find the phone a bit laggy afterwords?
