so ive had my iphone since launch day. i wont bore with details but it got stolen tonight.

so i purchased it with a cc in full with apple care as well.
its at&t 64gb iphone 5
i still have the receipt as well.

do i go to apple for a replacement or to at&t?
i know i have to pay what 250 or something along those lines? for another one. but i left a nice little message for whoever finds its.
they were smart and immediately turned it off. i know someone has it because it had about 80% battery left. it wouldn't have died in 30 minutes i had it until i realized it was gone.

they must have seen i had money and was like oh he can afford it =(

Apple care doesn't cover theft. Only if you purchased insurance through Att.

about if its reported stolen that it would be blocked off the network?

like i said guess its off to my cc company that has lost/theft protection.

They've at least been working on it. I'd call them to find out.

just an update
went to apple-no dice
went to at&t no dice
called mastercard and my bank. no dice. (they have warranty extension but this doesn't include lost/and/or stolen.)

so i bought a new 64gb iphone 5 BLACK for full price 901 out the door.
it is what it is.

did you have att insurance? usually the theft is covered i thought but your in a totally different part of the world.

Yeah actually it will vary by state. In my state of NV, smartphones can and only will be covered if endorsed onto the Renters/homeowners policy.

You should call Apple and tell them about the theft. They've begun to implement a database of stolen phones through serial numbers. I've had my serial number checked every time I've gone to the Genius Bar which never happened before. I believe in order to make the report you have to report it to the cops and then call Apple. This way if the ***** tries to get warranty service Apple will do whatever they do.

Here in MA just to get the phone paid for you need to pay the $500 deductible or sometimes up to a $2K deductible.

Sometimes its easier just getting a phone off craigslist. Lol

Usually there s a separate deductible for things you endorse. For example, here it's typically a $0 deductible. Bad thing is its a claim on your homeowners policy. No bueno.
