So who switched to shared data?
Anybody switch to the shared data plans? I switched up for the 4gb plan with 2 iPhones. I mainly did it for the personal hotspot and was able to do so while actually saving money. I had previously the 550 minute family plan with family text, 2gb and 3gb data plans. Never ever got close to going over my data limits on either phone, so losing a gig isn't that big a deal. I also get a 15% discount on my service.

I switched to 20gb plan. One tablet and two iphones. Saving me at least 50.00 a month and I get a discount through my school as well!

I switched. Did 10gb plan. 3 iPhone 4S', 2 iPad 2s, 1 iPad 3, and a playstation vita. My iPad 3 and my iPhone 4S use about 6-7gb monthly... And I put my parents on my plan with 2 iPhone 4S that we migrated and they used a total of 400mb combined including 2 iPad 2a... So the remainder is left for the vita and all of us to share

I just signed up for AT&T from Verizon. I had the share plan on Verizon and wanted the same on AT&T. I like having the hotspot feature included. Plus it seems that you can only do FaceTime over cellular if you have the shared plan. It doesn't really cost me anymore than what I was paying before.

i did the online calculation they provide on their website and according to that i will be paying around $50-$60 more than what i am paying right now, even with my 15% discount
AND i am grandfathered into the unlimited plan, which i am questioning how great that portion is anymore since i can notice when i am being throttled. dicks - 08-26-2012, 10:29 AM #8 iPhone 5 (Black.32GB.AT&T) iPad Mini (Black.32GB.WiFi) iPad (3Gen.Black.64GB.AT&T) MacBook Pro (15" 2012.Retina Display.i7) iMac (21.5" 2011.i5) AppleTV (3Gen)

If I could get 4Gbs for what I'm paying now I would but it's going to cost more even with the 20% discount. What kills it is the $30 fee for a dumb phone. Sorry but my 13 year old doesn't need a smartphone. I'd really like hotspot and losing unlimited isn't a big deal as I don't go through a lot of data. 1.5GB for me and 500MBs for the wife. Double that for tethering use and I'd be good.

Yeah I have five iPhones and three iPads. Saved me big time. Plus AT&T wifi is everywhere.
It's a damn shame what they did to that dog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - 09-18-2012, 10:02 PM #16
I have a current family plan with 5 iPhones. Three of them use <200MB of data per month, and are on the $15 plan.
Switching to the new plan will increase my bill by about $15 per month, but I will have the added security of my wife not going over her data plan (she has done that for the last three months!!!) AND I will have the wifi hotspot feature.
I am contemplating doing it.
