Account Contract Question

I just want to settle a discussion my sister and I had...

If I get a used Iphone 3...Can it be activated on AT&T on a month to month basis...without a contract...

I said it can be activated without a 2 yr contract and she said that since it would be a new account I would have to sign up for a 2 yr account...

any thoughts???

No since you're not buying a phone at a discounted price you shouldn't have to sign a 2 year contract.

Even if you signed up for a new AT&T account and brought them your iPhone to activate, you wouldn't have to sign a contract. You could just have a month-to-month plan.

Ok here's the deal.

We get paid if you bring your own iPhone. A lot.

WE PUT YOU IN A CONTRACT THAT WE CAN GET YOU OUT OF WITHOUT A TERMINATION FEE.

We like it if you keep it for 6 months, as after that AT&T doesn't take our commission back from us for you "canceling".
