Early upgrade question

So i am looking at the iphone upgrade for the upcoming iphone4 release and the AT&T site states
"As a valued AT&T customer, we can offer you a discounted iPhone upgrade at a higher price, along with a 2-year commitment and an $18 upgrade fee. Please proceed with the online upgrade process for pricing details. You may qualify for a full discount on a standard iPhone upgrade on 07/23/2011 "

Obviously I have recently upgraded my phone so will signing the 2 year contract extend my current contract by 2 years or reset it to the 2 year date?

It will start a fresh 2 years from the day you upgrade. It wont add 2 years to your existing time

I've heard they are going to be pretty generous with the upgrades, BUT we shall see.

I dont qualify for a full upgrade until may of next year but im going to go ahead do the early upgrade for 400 its worth it.
