Is there a way you guys know of to use these two together easily? It always connects to my iPhone first. Then I have to disconnect every time and try to connect to watch. Then before they do connect, the iPhone barges in again and connects on its own. I almost always have to turn off my phone to use the watch and PB 3 together. Am I alone?

Thanks!

Do you need to use them without the phone? If you're going for a run, it should still work ok?

I always use my AirPods through my phone, not my watch, so just curious. :)

Yeah, I like to run without my phone, so it's great to be able to just have the watch and headphones. It'd be fine if I just could connect it to my watch, but with the M whatever chip, it is connected to all my devices. And the phone just seems to connect to powerbeats whether I want it to or not.

There are two things you need do to accomplish the use of just the watch with the Powerbeats. You are going to have to move a single playlist to the watch through the music app.

Then you can do the following:
1) Make sure your Bluetooth is configured and sees the Powerbeats.

2) While in the music app on the watch.. long press on the screen until the source options show themselves. Choose the Apple Watch.

3) Play your music for the win... The slider underneath your song is the volume control.

As long as the source indicates the watch - it should work. There is always an issue with the sound when the phone again comes into range (it tries to trump the signal.. but it lasts about 10 seconds from my tests). Turning off BT on the phone can correct this as you note.

Hope that helps.
