how do i stop bbm app from sending invites to all my contacts?

have put bbm app on my new phone and it keeps sending invites to all my contacts.

That could have been something you did at setup. I'm now on version 300.0.1.32 on my iPad and in Settings there's a toggle for 'find contacts already using BBM'. Not sure of the version you were on when you posted but check there.

When inviting friends to an event either email them or ring them on the phone. No need for a application to do this.

OP is talking about BBM invites, not event invites. Furthermore, this question is from 2015.

Yes. Inviting unwanted peeps to some events that are going on. Invitations are better by phone or a simple email.
