Why are some of my Apple TV icons dark?

Hello Serenity!

I've been noticing for some time now that some of my Apple TV icons now show up as darkened. They work with no problem. But I'm unsure as to what this is supposed to mean? Here is a photo of my Apple TV interface. Notice the Netflix and CBS icons are darker? Is this a "feature" I'm unaware of? If so, what are they trying to tell me?

This seems to be a pretty common bug that occurs after an app is updated. Luckily it doesn't appear to affect the operability of the app and restarting resolves the problem.

No problem! Hopefully the bug gets squashed in a future update.

It COULD be related to the app upgrade process. I know on our phones (and iPads) when an app is updating it grays out, to indicate you can't use it. Perhaps the same things happens on Apple TV BUT due to a bug the app never un-grays (did I coin a new word, lol) when it's done upgrading? Anyways good that everything else is still working about the apps.

I had the same issue with greyed out icons. I did a system RESTART and it fixed the icons back to normal.

TV4 restart also fixed the greyed-out icons for me as well. ...Curious.
