The inspire HR does not accurately count steps for my 90 year old Mom with slow, short steps.

I had to change the height to 3 feet to get it to count steps for my 90 year old Mom. She has a very short step length and walks very slow. I wanted the inspire HR to count steps to make sure she was getting some exercise during the day. Is there anyway to get the inspire HR to work without having to fake the weight and height info?
