Why does my indoor antenna connection loses signal?

I have two brand-new flat panel TV's that I am cord cutting. I am in a small apartment on the first floor, there's only one floor above me. I have tried different antennas from antennas with no gain and others they do have gain. The picture and sound would work correctly for time then all of sudden the TV picture/sound would lose the signal (screen is corrupted, no sound or blank screen no sound) for seconds to minutes. I did follow the article Cord Cutting:How to pick the right OTA antenna for your home. Still the same problem. So far the best antennas for me has been the ones with no gain. How can I stop losing signal's?

Weather, signal strength, antenna placement and a few other interferences are often the culprit. If you have a splitter, connect one end to a wall cable outlet and the other to the antenna and see if that helps.
