Up next and calendar display date wrong way round.

iPhone 6s Plus- iOS 10.3
Phone picking up date within emails with UK format, adds them to up next widget/phone calendar as USA format.
Phone set to UK date and time- time zone etc. I've tried all sorts to no avail, plus a sorts of searches on Google.
Anyone any ideas please?

What happens if you go to Settings > Calendars and enable Time Zone Override?
