why does my phone go to messaging after only 1 ring

If you're saying that the call goes to your voicemail after one ring, contact your wireless carrier and have them diagnose the problem from their end.

Try doing this: ##873283 # and hit talk. It will say starting service update. Hit ok. It will then say service update complete. Hit ok again. It is done. This works for Sprint. Not sure of other carriers.
