Why aren't videos working on my iPad Mini?

When I try to watch videos, whether on YouTube, or in Photos, or anywhere else, they show the screen, but won't play. How can I fix it?

Are you on wifi or cellular? What does it do when you push the > play button on the screen?

Go to Settings > Sounds and drag the Ringer And Alerts slider to turn the volume up. If you can't hear sound from the speaker, contact Apple Support. If your device has a Ring/Silent switch, make sure it's set to ring.
