Unable to find draft emails after screen saver locks

I select a photo and try to send it but before I send it the screen goes black and I have to press touch passcode to get back into my iphone6s plus but I don't see my draft for that photo or attachment. I would think it should go into my draft folder but it doesn't. I have a few work emails that I'm unable to retrieve and they're not showing up in my draft email. Is there another location to retrieve unsent message that you forward from your gallery pictures. If I put my phone down the screen saver will come on requiring me to enter passcode finger print. By the time I have access the phone again my email has disappeared from my screen and not to be seen my email draft.

Which phone are you using? It might be a weak battery causing that. Maybe someone else knows for sure.
