Iphone 6 GPS not tracking anymore.

recently the GPS hasn't seemed to track well in any app I've tried; Waze, google maps, apple maps. so much so that i can't get turn by turn directions anymore. I believe the overall reception of the phone has diminished as well. notice more instances of 'No Signal.'

I've tried refreshing location services, force restarting the phone, and resetting all location and network data. haven't tried restoring yet mostly because of the permanence. Or will restoring a backup not reintroduce the problem i would potentially solve?

Not sure If i have a software or hardware problem or how to diagnose it. If hardware, would the part be replaceable?

iPhone 6 Version 10.2.1

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

•First, make an encrypted backup on iTunes on your computer.
•Then restore your iPhone as a new device.
Without configuring it to your wishes, use the stock Maps app just to see if GPS is working.
•If yes, restore to the latest backup.
•If the GPS signal is not working this time, then you have successfully determined that you have to install your iPhone as new device in order to use GPS at all.
