I have the free 3 month iTunes trial, went to download a song and got charged!!! Why?

Needing help understanding the whole free 3 month itune trial.

Welcome to iMore! The 90-day free trial pertains to Apple Music (located in the Music app on your device). If you go to iTunes and purchase music you'll still be charged for it.

As Rob Phillips said, the 3 month trial is for Apple Music, if you download songs with Apple Music inside the Music app you shouldn't be charged, however if you leave the Music app and try to download via the iTunes Store app, you'll still be charged. Those are separate apps.
